STOCK MARKET:Gift Nifty Points to Calm Start.

Stock market updates on March 22: The Indian stock exchanges are expected to open flat on Friday, following mixed global cues. The Nifty futures also indicate a subdued start at 07:00 AM, with futures down 10 points compared to the Nifty 50 futures at 22,092.

In the Asia-Pacific region, markets showed a mix of gains and losses on Friday morning. Japan’s Nikkei 225 continued its upward trend for the second consecutive trading session, rising by 0.53% and trading above 41,000 levels. The Topix also saw an increase of 0.64%.

On the other hand, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index futures were down by 1.70% at 16,580 levels. Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 was trading lower by 0.31% on Thursday morning.

South Korea’s Kospi was up by 0.19%, while the Kosdaq was down by 0.03%.

In the U.S., all three major indexes reached new highs, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average and the S&P 500 rising by 0.68% and 0.32% respectively. The Nasdaq Composite saw an increase of 0.20%.

Stocks to watch today:

1. L&T: Larsen & Toubro, India’s largest infrastructure company, has scheduled a board meeting on March 27 to seek approval for fundraising activities, which may include issuing debt.

2. IREDA: The Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency has announced a board meeting scheduled for March 28 to discuss a borrowing program of up to Rs 24,200 crore for the fiscal year 2024–25.

3. Tata Communications: Tata Communications received approval from its board of directors to transfer its identified new edge digital services business to its wholly-owned subsidiary, Novamesh, as a going concern through a slump sale, for a total of Rs 458 crore.
